Hello. *Awkward pause.*
Now that the obligatory awkward silence is out of the way, I suppose I should introduce myself. You can call me Agano (Bonus points to whoever knows what "Agano" means. ^.^ ) I'm currently partway through three novel ideas (Not boasting - My ADD kicked in for each and they lay pretty much forgotten in some spiral notebook somewhere, though I do try to get back to them from time to time) with another idea on the way. I'm hoping that joining here will keep me focused enough to break my 100 page block.
This is a place where I can get feedback on my stories, right? Or do my eyes decieve me? (Quote from "All About you Writings" Board Description: "Remember not to ask members to rate and give you their opinions on your stories.")
Well, either way, here's to productive writing!

Hello! Nice to meet you, Agano? Oh well, I guess I don't get those points. Oh well.
Anyway, my name is Triquetra. (Just incase you didn't see the thing above my avatar XD) And, I am the Global Moderator here at A Writers' Quill. But, we give opinions on everybodies' work, don't worry about that at all.
Glad you joined! And, have a wonderful stay here at AWQ!

Thankee sai. I was thinking that maybe posting my novel here chapter by chapter would give me the resolve to finish, since I will then already have readers. Unless that's considered A Bad Thing (duh-dun-DUN). Good to hear about the opinion thing. Too many times I show someone my work and they tell me 'it's awesome' when I'm looking for more of a 'how about doing _____ to make it better?' (Don't get me wrong, flattery is great, it just doesn't help make a good story.) I'll get to writing, and I'll pro'lly have something posted by the end of the week. (As for "Agano", I'll give you but one hint: It's not English. )

Hello and welcome Agano. Thanks for joining! Agano is Japanese, isn't it? But I really have no idea what it means lol . Yeah, you can finish your novel chapter by chapter here. Novel board is there for a reason Yeah, we're here not just to comment the story like 'ooh...your story's great' but we try to give you some feedbacks of what you need to improve. Can't wait to read your story and hope you enjoy your stay... Any questions, ask me or Brian as he has introduced himself

Agano was the name of a fleet of Japanese naval ships (had to look that one up) but I didn't know that until you said it was Japanese.
Surprising coincidence, but not the reason I chose it.

Agano is also the last name of a Japanese artist who specialises in textiles and installation art. *reads google* wow. They did some pretty cool stuff as well...
It's a game too. *continues to read google*
Also a river...
Hmmm... anyway, welcome!

Wow I should definetly pay more attention to the words I use to use as my handle. I was thinking more along the lines of it's Swahili translation, but I guess it also has it's fingers in japanese culture as well.
oh well. A million bonus points for everyone.

It's part Japanese, if I remember correctly. "Thankee sai" Is a mix of German (or was it dutch?) and Either Japanese or Chinese (My memory is less than abysmal about nearly everything). It's a reference to Stephen King's The Dark Tower series. From en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Dark_Tower_glossary#Thankee.2C_Sai : Now, not even a week in and obscure references seem to be my forte. That and somehow being able to speak Japanese. *I fail* XD

I do think it's part of Japanese, but I don't think about Chinese or the word of thank you in Japanese itself. German says Danke, Chinese says Xie Xie, and Japanese says Arigatou though yes, maybe it's mixed. I think that Thankee Sai is derived from Thank you Sir in Japanese, possibly similar to Stephen King's.
